Population Economics

The aim of the module is to develop and evaluate theories and measures of population growth and control as they pertain to economic and social spheres. It builds on macroeconomics and microeconomics modules. Students will be able to identify various population issues and their consequences on the environment, including but not limited to: fertility control, mortality rates, migration, aging population, and ecological changes resulting from population pressure, Population and sustainability.

When the students complete the module, they will be able to evalute population problems and repercussions on the countries and he environment. In addition, they can recommend smart solutions to different population problems, to be able to evaluate current solutions and theories. Also, they analyze a real life population topic and recommend policies. Students will develop oral and written communication skills and be able to discuss the SDGs and the proposed solutions towards sustainability.
