About BUE IMPACT

"Working in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and towards UN Sustainable Development Goals, the British University in Egypt has over the past five years succeeded in identifying national challenges and offering findings that can be translated into solutions to Egypt’s needs. The University's ’s research community has managed to attract funding from international as well as government entities to produce groundbreaking research that has led to the creation of 33 prototypes addressing a number of challenges in diverse fields including energy, safety, water management, industry and manufacturing, agriculture, the health sector and education. In parallell with research, the University’s ongoing and dedicated efforts in promoting sustainability through community service continue to serve a number of SDGs including (SDG 6) Clean Water and Sanitation, (SDG 7) Affordable and Clean Energy, (SDG 8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, (SDG 9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, (SDG 11) Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 12) Responsible Consumption and Production and (SDG 13) Climate Action. Some also contribute to (SDG 1) No Poverty, (SDG 3) Good Health and Well-Being and (SDG 4) Quality Education. Community outreach programmes have seen a number of fruitful collaborations with established national, regional that lso contribute to (SDG 17) Partnerships for the Goals. In class, Sustainable Development Goals are integrated into teaching modules to raise students' awareness of the importance of the global initiatives, and on campus University Management is embracing UN SDGs by enforcing best practices when it comes to energy conservation, sustainability and committment to diversity and equality.
