Provide students with experience in proper child management and behavior modification in order to establish a positive attitude towards dental treatment. Students will learn to manage incipient and deep caries in primary and immature permanent teeth. Enable the students to apply preventive dental measures, manage children with traumatic injuries and special healthcare needs. Introduce dental public health to the students and explain the basics of epidemiology, sampling and surveys as well as promote oral health through organized community efforts.
As for SDG 3,4, the module output was in the form of Free public lectures in order to raise the oral health awareness, students were able to design good health brochures and posters that were distributed to the patients. In addition to, participation of the students in the convoys and field trips. Also, we provided products (Toothpastes and brushes). As educators we believe that education is a public good, we always provide the students with monthly lectures during their internship year. Also, regular courses and workshops were provided to ensure that they receive the latest information and procedures in the dental field. Furthermore, in 2021/2022 Flip class was added to the teaching classes where students participated in active learning. As for SDG 5,10: our goal is “no one left behind” when it comes to oral heath, thus we provided conveys targeting different groups of the community. Screening and treating patients with special health care needs (Orphans, refugees and girls with visual impairment) under local anesthesia and general anesthesia. In accordance to Egypt’s Vision 2030, our staff members participated in Hayah Karima initiative where they screened and treated children in El Wahat region. Serving Gender Equity, more than 60 % of our staff members are females.
