Environmental Economic Analysis

The aim of this module is to make students understand the environment-economy relationship, analyse the effect of human behaviour on the environment and evaluate different regulatory approaches that tackle major environmental problems.
The module covers a range of topics including: natural resource, pollution and environmental damage, Benefit& Costs, Supply & Demand, Willingness to Pay & Opportunity Cost, Economic Efficiency and Markets, The Economics of Environmental Quality, Environmental Valuation Methods, Environmental Policy Analysis, Economic Development and the Environment, Economics of International Environmental problems. The module is very relevant to sustainable development goals as it tackles many of the SDGs goals.
Students through their research essay learnt knowledge better understand and appreciate the SDGs and the true meaning of sustainable development. This moves in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision and it promotes further achievement of SDGs.
