The British University in Egypt recently held a magnificent Choir Event, featuring a talented ensemble that brought an extraordinary level of musical artistry to the stage, marking a distinct departure from the University’s own Choir Team. This memorable performance was graced by the University’s distinguished leaders, including the Chancellor, Sir Professor Magdi Yacoub; Chair of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Farida Khamis; and President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi. Among other esteemed attendees were members of the Board of Trustees: H.E. Professor Ashraf Hatem, H.E. Ambassador Francis Joseph Ricciardone Jr., Professor Iwan Davies, Engineer Tarek Aboualam, Mr. Douglas Blackstock, Pro-Chancellor Derek Plumbly, Mr. John Cappock, and Ms. Sharon Johnstone.
The event was further enhanced by the presence of an impressive delegation of guests from renowned institutions across the globe. Notable attendees included Ms. Sophie Turnbull, Director of International Recruitment & Admission at the University of the West of England; Ms. Emma Stone, Country Managing Partner (UAE) at Perret Laver; Ms. Ailsa Espie, International Collaborations Adviser at Queen Margaret University’s School of Health Sciences; Professor David Brooksbank, Senior Dean at Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff Metropolitan University; and Professor Todor Radev, President of Varna University, Bulgaria.
In addition to University leadership and Board members, the event brought together our Vice-Chancellor’s Board, Deans, faculty members, a vibrant assembly of students and attendees from the public. The Choir’s captivating performance demonstrated the University’s commitment to cultural enrichment and underscored its dedication to fostering global collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.
