Taking strides to capitalize on its research resources and inventions to bridge the gap between academia and industry through commercializing research, supporting entrepreneurs, and spreading entrepreneurial culture to solve industrial challenges and needs, the British University in Egypt recently announced its Intellectual Property Rights Policy. Developed by the Technology Innovation and Commercialization Office (TICO) in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the University’s IPR serves as a tool to foster innovation and protect the research output of both Academic and Research staff as well as benefit from its spin-offs.
