Office of Enterprise Launches Ebhar Misr Orientation Program for Students from National Schools and Universities

In the partnership with EBHAR Misr program, the Office of Enterprise at The British University in Egypt launched a tailored three-day training program for students from several public national universities and schools who are interested in technology and science. The program focused on delivering sessions about different fields of study and how attendees can enhance their skills to fill the market gap. The students were introduced to the University’s various engineering labs and were able to experiment with materials themselves under the supervision of British University staff and students.

The attendees also toured labs at the University’s Nanotechnology Research Center and Fabrication Lab and had the opportunity to help in designing and implementing some samples done by laser cutter. The students then met startup founders and had free discussions about being an entrepreneur and the

The British University in Egypt previously signed of a Memorandum of Understanding in support of Ebhar Misr Program. The program is dedicated to finding and preparing remarkable young talents in the fields of Science, Technology and Art. The MoU was signed by Professor Mohamed Loutfi, University President & Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Hassan Serag El Din, Managing Director of Credit Agricole Foundation for Development, and Dr. Salma El Bakry, Chairman of Education First Board of Trustees. The collaboration aims to add a practical dimension to the Social Innovation Competition, which is the latest introduction to Ebhar Misr Program. The competition is looking for projects and inventions that offer innovative solutions to community issues. Three winners will receive monetary prizes – first prize is EGP 75,000. An entrepreneurial boot camp at the University will be provided to eligible participants to accomplish their skills and guide them in executing their projects/inventions.
