The Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering at The British University in Egypt proudly participated in the Environment & Development Forum (EDF 2022), held from September 11-13, 2022 at the InterContinental City Stars in Cairo, Egypt. Under the theme “Road to Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Change COP27,” the forum provided a platform for critical discussions and actionable strategies to address pressing environmental and climate challenges in preparation for COP27.
Hosted under the Patronage of the Presidency of Climate Change COP27, the event brought together notable leaders including:
- H.E. Sameh Shoukry, President Designate, COP27, and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
- H.E. Yasmine Fouad, Egypt’s Minister of Environment
- H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN High-level Champion for Climate Change
- H.E. Mr. Ahmed Abou El-Gheit, Former Foreign Minister of Egypt
- H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Abu-Zeid, President of the Arab Water Council and former Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation
The forum, convened by the Arab Water Council, fostered collaboration among government officials, environmental advocates, academic institutions, and other stakeholders dedicated to advancing climate action.

- Climate Action (SDG 13): The forum focused on strategies to combat climate change, contributing to the global climate agenda ahead of COP27.
