In collaboration with Haya Karima foundation, the Faculty of Dentistry at The British University in Egypt organized a convoy to El Hayatem village in El Mahalla El Kobra in Gharbia Governorate with the presence of our faculty’s well equipped mobile dental clinic. A total of 700 patients received general checkups, dental examination, scaling and dental treatments in different specialties, oral health awareness as well as training session about the correct way of teeth brushing aiming to raise the oral health of Egyptian individuals.
Cases in need of further treatment were referred to the dental hospital at the British University for further care.
Professional staff members, interns, nurses, administrative staff & BDS club students ensure the success of the convoy. Thanks are also due to Unilever Egypt for supporting the convoy through the dissemination of free samples of Signal tooth pastes and toothbrushes. Hand sanitizers were also offered by the faculty to all patients as giveaways emphasizing the significance of maintaining hand hygiene.
The initiative was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Loutfi, President and Vice-Chancellor of the British University in Egypt and under the supervision of Prof. Tarek Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. The activity falls within the framework of the strategic plan established for community services at the Faculty of Dentistry to achieve the sustainable development goals adopted by the faculty and university ,in accordance with Egypt vision 2030,
