The British University in Egypt (BUE) recently launched the largest university marathon for public health, entitled “Run for Health and Well-being,” in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The event, which took place under the auspices of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Youth and Sports, and the British Embassy in Egypt, was organized by Cairo Runners.
This recurring marathon reflects BUE’s commitment to promoting health and well-being in the community, in line with its mission to support the achievement of sustainable development goals. By organizing such events on campus and its vicinity, the university continues to play a pivotal role in fostering awareness among the local community about public health while contributing to the broader efforts to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Students from local schools are regularly invited to take part in community outreach sports events at BUE’s recently renovated Sports Complex.
The “Run for Health and Well-being” event brought together participants from various sectors, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and wellness for a healthier society. Through this initiative, BUE reinforces its dedication to not only educational excellence but also to the promotion of a sustainable and healthy future for all.
