Green Energy Transition: Why Now? Why You?

The Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering held an event entitled “The Green Energy Transition: Why Now? Why You? Why FEEE?” which aimed to raise awareness about the urgent need for a sustainable energy transition and highlight the role of individuals and institutions in driving this change. It sought to foster dialogue on green energy policies, technological advancements, and collaboration opportunities between Egypt and the European Union.

The Green Energy Transition: Why Now? Why You? Why FEEE? generated significant outcomes, including enhanced awareness of green energy policies, strengthened academic-industry collaboration, and inspiration for student-led research initiatives. The session provided valuable insights into sustainable energy strategies, encouraging students and professionals to engage in innovative projects related to renewable energy and policy development.

The event hosted Alan Haigh, a senior expert from the European Commission’s DG Research and Innovation, who shared valuable insights into Europe’s energy strategy and its potential impact on Egypt’s energy sector.

On a local and national level, the event contributed to capacity-building by equipping attendees with knowledge about EU-Egypt energy partnerships, fostering a skilled workforce to drive Egypt’s clean energy transition. Globally, it reinforced Egypt’s role in international energy collaboration, aligning with efforts to achieve a sustainable future.

This initiative supports Egypt’s Vision 2030 by promoting sustainable energy solutions, enhancing research and innovation, and fostering partnerships that contribute to economic growth and environmental sustainability.
