The British University in Egypt is actively shaping the future of the local economy by dedicating its resources to nurturing financially and socially sustainable businesses. This commitment was powerfully demonstrated when The British University in Egypt’s Business Incubator hosted the final pitch event for its “Green and Smart Technology Incubator” program.
Operating under the prestigious National Incubators Program (Intilaaq) and funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), the initiative provides a robust platform for turning innovative ideas into thriving enterprises. At the pitch event, 22 promising startups from diverse sectors presented their pioneering projects, all focused on leveraging smart and green technology to address contemporary community challenges.
The event culminated in the selection of 10 outstanding startups that will now receive substantial support to ensure their long-term success. Each of the winning teams was awarded seed funding of up to EGP 300,000, providing the essential financial foundation needed to scale. Crucially, they were also granted a 6-month incubation program hosted directly at The British University in Egypt’s Business Incubator. This intensive period offers invaluable resources, including expert mentorship from faculty and industry specialists, specialized training workshops, and privileged access to the University’s state-of-the-art facilities and labs.
By linking entrepreneurs with essential education, resources, and capital, The British University in Egypt is fulfilling its role as a key player in community service, fostering innovation, creating new jobs, and ensuring that Egypt’s next generation of businesses is built upon a foundation of sustainability.
