Community Pharmacy Mock-Ups Campaign Empowers Third-Year Pharm D Students

In March 2024, the British University in Egypt proudly hosted the “Community Pharmacy Mock-Ups” campaign, a hands-on learning experience that brought practical pharmacy education to life. The campaign was part of the Community Pharmacy module (Pharm D: PCP305 & Pharm DC: PCPc307) and involved over 300 third-year students from both the Pharm D and Pharm D Clinical programs.

Under the supervision of Dr. Rana Magdy, students simulated real-world community pharmacy environments, showcasing their understanding of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, counseling techniques, and patient education.

🧪 Key Topics Included:

  • Cold and flu

  • Cough management

  • Diarrhea and constipation

  • Hemorrhoids
These themes allowed students to explore common self-care treatments and practice effective patient communication in a controlled, educational setting.

The Faculty of Pharmacy celebrates this student-led effort, which not only deepened pharmaceutical knowledge but also empowered future pharmacists with confidence and creativity in patient-centered care.
